Dialogue Guides are models for conducting interactive discussions across stakeholders in States and districts. These packages make new use of dependable and publicly available information. Each Guide circulates a common set of source materials and suggested procedures for involving various audiences. In this manner, stakeholders (families, practitioners, professional associations, professors, policymakers, legislators) all over the country can begin interacting in new ways around implementation issues.

Working with the 55 Partnership organizations, we are using the Dialogue Guide format to help you use the information released by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) on changes in IDEA 2004. The Topic Briefs are short federally developed summary documents of the major changes in the IDEA 2004 regulations. Also in collaboration with the partners, we are writing many Dialogue Guides to existing documents for your use. We expect to create many Guides on the hottest topics in IDEA implementation. The current list of documents for Dialogue Guides development was selected by the partners. As other documents are selected, we will develop new Guides to help you communicate the additional information.
