The IDEA Partnership pursues work across groups to promote collaboration in two main ways: working with partner organizations around their shared interests and issues and working with national issue centers to engage the partner organizations.

• Partnership Work with National Organizations

The IDEA Partnership recognizes the goals of each of its 55 partner organizations and encourages organizations to coalesce around common interests and issues that they care about.  Together, we build community through nurturing relationships and shared work.

• Partnership Work with National Technical Assistance Centers

Federal investment in projects and centers that conduct research, technical assistance, dissemination are vital to the work of The IDEA Partnership. We collaborate primarily with issue centers funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).



IDEA Partnership Annual Meeting

With extraordinary collaboration, groups from the membership of the IDEA Partnership worked together over the last few months on shared issues. Beginning on the evening of Wednesday, March 24 and continuing through early afternoon on Friday, March 26th, participants met to review progress and next steps including:

• Refining our shared messages on: stakeholder engagement, the role of organizations in scale-up of evidence-based practice, and P-16 Systems;
• Learning about the array of new tools that are ready for coordinated dissemination;
• Identifying local level partners to use the tools and report on their usefulness;
• Outlining the plan for virtual mentoring of our local representatives to the Partnership;
• Learning about the new effort to develop Common Core Standards and beginning the development of messages and tools; and
• Updating the Partners on the work of the Communities of Practice and invite new engagement and leadership on issues.
