Virtual Mentoring

During the past year, the IDEA Partnership has discussed the dissemination of topics, issues and resources to the state and local level through a process of virtual mentoring.  In this process, Activity Leaders, Partnership staff and members of Partner organizations plan to hold routine web-enhanced sessions with constituents that Partner organizations have recruited and others who self-select to use and promote Partnership tools in their practice.
The first group of virtual mentees is being formed around Autism and intends to use the PowerPoints and Presenter Guides in our ASD Collection to develop workshops for the summer and fall of 2010.  Other cohorts of mentees will soon be created around Transition, Creating Agreement, RTI and Behavioral Health. Still other groups will organize around the use of tools and strategies, including How to Create Dialogue across Groups at the State and Local Levels. Collectively, our Partnership has recruited 264 individuals as potential participants in virtual mentoring.
